Reiki

Reiki has been around for thousands of years. Its current form was first developed in 1922 by a Japanese Buddhist called Mikao Usui. His tradition and methods were passed through several grandmasters of reiki, and I'm part of the 10th generation of reiki practitioners.

 

The word "Reiki" comes from the Japanese words "rei" (universal life) and "ki" (life energy). It's a type of energy healing. The practitioner places their hands lightly on or over specific areas of the head, limbs, and torso using different hand shapes (sacred symbols), for between 2 and 5 minutes. The treatment targets the flow of energy and removes blocks in a similar way to acupuncture or acupressure.
